Political Parties tasked to Preach Virtue

Ashanti Regional Deputy Director for National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) Mr. Lord Larbi has tasked political parties to preach virtue towards December general elections.

Mr. Larbi said this during the inauguration of NCCE’s inter-party dialogue committee at Tepa in the Ahafo-Ano District of Ashanti region.

He said, the NCCE will work closely with various political parties and Chiefs at the District to attain violence free elections coming December.

“We should not preach virtue and practice bad as our violent act can vent the entire country” he stated.

NCCE District Director Samuel Kwasi Otchere on his part urged party representatives to be guided by the political party’s code of ethics issued by all political parties in the country, saying “is not your obligation to announce who is the winner or loser that work has been given to Electoral Commission”

He therefore preached against abuse of incumbency which seeks to frustrate minority groups from getting access to their part of the national cake.

The District Coordinating Director for the District Emmanuel Eddu during his closing remarks reminded participants to desist from alcohol and marijuana during their electoral campaigns.

He latter drew the curtains down by saying “all we need is peace before and after the elections”

The traditional council and the party representatives pledged to work hard to attain transparency whiles exercising the franchise.
