The Police Administration has called on motorists and other road users to be circumspect when they are using the road in this period of the year.
According to a statement issued and signed by Superintendent Kwasi Ofori, Director of Public Affairs, Police Headquarters, the weather at this time of the year is very hazy, creating visible problem to drivers and other road users alike.
“This state of affairs has the propensity to cause road accidents if extra care is not taken.”
He entreated school children and other pedestrians to be sure of the distance and speed of moving vehicles before they cross the road.
He urged all Regional, Divisional and District Commanders in the service to ensure robust law enforcement on our roads with immediate effect.
This special road exercise according to superintendent Ofori is aimed at dealing with careless and reckless driving on the roads, and minimizing the carnages on the road.
He maintained that the exercise would also be used to curb containers not properly secured on cargo trucks, overloading and motor riders riding without helmets and others.
